点评:We did the 5-day route from Takajiro to Nachesen and highly recommend it. We are 62 and 59 years old and healthy but not big hikers. We carried light packs with only what we needed for the 5 days and brought hiking poles. It was a wonderful experience. Surprisingly few hikers for what is supposedly high season which was very nice. We were prepared for rain and we did get rained on. Rain would definitely slow descents as they are rocky and steep. We were sore and exhausted at the end of every day but recovered by next morning.
The forest is lovely, even smells good, and is, as some have said monocultural with only a couple of tree species. Still beautiful though and trails in great condition, well marked and well maintained restrooms.
The accommodations were also a highlight. We really enjoyed the Japanese hospitality, particularly the onsens
