点评:Enjoyed a great tour of the mansion with a local guide. The artwork given to the president from around the world 50+ years ago was beautiful. The amazing number of books he collected is a curious look into the president of a third world country. The building is a very unique architectural experience. The very sad conclusion to the experience was the terrible disarray that the grounds have fallen into. Open broken electrical lines and lites sticking up haphazardly from the ground, a murky dirty broken swimming pool that would have been beautiful architecture back in the day, weeds and overgrown or dead shrubs, brush, trees make up the majority of the grounds around the property. Garbage is seen strewn all over as well as it is in the rest of Dakar.
Rugs in the dwelling need to be updated and covered to prolong the flooring from visitor foot traffic. Too bad there is no interest from a university garden club or agricultural department that could help update and maintain a piece of history of this Senegalese nation.
