点评:The town beach was very crowded on a Sunday and we wanted something more peaceful, so we tried to find Canoa Beach Sud, just south of town on the other side oa headland.
Public access roads are not easy to find, but we finally succeeded in finding one and had the beach mostly to ourselves. There are some timeshares and small hotels dotting the long stretch of beach and we saw some other people as the afternoon wore on.
If you like beachcombing for shells you will find lots here - I found lots of pretty ones, a big sand dollar, and many seed pods. And the hundreds of small shy red crabs were fun to watch.
No shelter (we made our own using beach poles and our towels) and there are no restaurants, so bring food, and especially water. Lots of sunblock too. We ended up going to the town beach for a late lunch.
At low tide you can walk quite far out to get to chest-level water and the waves are fairly gentle. At high tide it's a different story and many people come to the town beach to surf or play in the waves. I have a few mobility issues right now so found the waves at high tide to be a little too challenging for me, but there were lots of families enjoying them and my spouse found it exhilarating.
