点评:On a wandering road trip. Decided to visit Coolidge Dam and the desert while it was green. I had never been there before. The gravel road goes cross the dam top (where it is paved) and since we were the only ones there, it was possible to park on the bridge and take some photos of the area and over the edge. It was hot and very windy, so wear sunscreen, secure your hat, sunglasses, and photography equipment. The dam had enough water in it to be releasing some, which is usually not the case. It's located about 30 miles south and east of Globe, AZ on the Gila River, and was built between 1924 and 1928. It's on BIA land and the Coolidge Dam was part of the San Carlos Irrigation Project. Dedicated by then President Calvin Coolidge in 1930, it's 249 feet high and 580 feet wide.
