点评:This was an absolutely soul wrenching experience. The three sites that we visited each left us in disbelief and profound sadness. It’s not that these tragic and horrific events were unknown to us (or anyone), it’s that the breadth and utter ruthlessness of the things our fellow citizens were forced to suffer and endure was breathtaking.
This is a place that every American should experience as it provides, in words, photos, sculpture, art, video, diorama, and narrative, a deeper appreciation of what has and is happening even today. It leaves the viewer with a feeling of doing all that one can to make sure these things do not continue to happen in the future.
Well worth the time to see. It’s so comprehensive that it requires most of the day to fully absorb all the sites.
There are extremely helpful people providing security located everywhere through the sites. We spent some time conversing with many of them. They were very kind and engaged with us at all times.
To think that there are misguided people who wish to take away and suppress this part of our history is unthinkable. Everyone should and must know that this is part of American history too.
