Good park for birders, but.....
South Llano River State Park的点评
点评：I visited South Llano River State Park last weekend, at the end of April, which is one of the best times of year for birding in the Texas Hill Country. I drove about two hours and planned to spend two days birding, so I was excited for the trip.
Overall, the park was very good for birding. The habitat is beautiful, and the area clearly has strong potential for seeing special Hill Country birds. However, I was disappointed that two of the four bird blinds were closed (no running water, no feeding), and this was not disclosed on the park’s website before my visit. For birders and photographers who travel specifically for the blinds, that information is important and should be posted clearly in advance.
I was also frustrated by the design of the blinds. The front viewing areas were covered with glass, leaving only one seat that was really suitable for photography. That made it difficult to take good photos, especially when more than one photographer was using the blind.
South Llano River State Park is still a worthwhile destination for birding, especially during peak migration and breeding season, but better communication about blind closures and more photographer-friendly blind design would greatly improve the experience.
