点评:Sorry we weren’t impressed with this book store.
We only had a weekend on the islands ( as part of a far larger road trip across the USA) so being the type of folk who like to support small local businesses we outlined a few places we wanted to stop on our way back north from Frisco to Wanchese.
What a disappointment.
The lady who was working there wasn’t interested in us at all. We walked in and she was happily chatting to a local lady and didn’t even acknowledge our existence. When said customer left having purchased three books, the bookseller remained behind her counter on the computer. No enquiries as to what we were looking for no friendly chat, nothing!
We have supported independent bookstores in 15 different states on this trip and this was by far the worst. Considering books are at least half the price if not a third of the price back in the UK there is really no incentive for us to buy but we do so to support these small shops against the giant that is Amazon.
So sad when people who are relying upon tourists for their livelihoods cannot even smile, be civil or helpful. Unfortunately this wasn’t the first example of this we had encountered in North Carolina and yet everyone says the Carolina’s are such friendly people.
