赫曼公园的点评
点评：This, to me, is one of the best , inner city, public parks, in America. It has something for everyone and keeps on giving. Should I list all the amenities? Hermann is on the southern edge of the museum district and has 5 or 6 museums and exhibit spaces within walking distance including the incredible Museum of Fine Art, the Museum of Natural History, The Museum of Medicine and the Human Body, Children's Museum, and on and on. The Houston zoo is also part of the park along with McGovern Lake and paddle boats. Ok, I don't want to bore you but ... a great miniature train ride, an incredible children's play area and mini water park...
a beautiful New old fashion carousel, landscaping and beautiful live oak trees and shady foliage throughout, a small but beautifully laid out botanical garden and fountains with a grass covered, walkable ziggurat, a Japanese garden, a huge cascading fountain to an extended reflecting pool and obelisk square ,the Miller Outdoor Theatre, the 18 hole golf course, the shady walking trails, access to Metro rail from the west and north sides of the park...maybe New York's Central park can compete, maybe Balboa park in San Diego can compete but ....only drawback..it's so popular on weekends finding parking will be half a mile or more away and you will feel like you're in crowded NYC...but what a great park...
