城市之猫渡船的点评
点评：One of my favourite ways to experience Brisbane isn’t by car or on foot—it’s by hopping aboard a CityCat and letting the river do the sightseeing.
While CityCat is technically part of Brisbane’s public transport system, it feels like much more than a simple commuter service. Every time I visit Brisbane, I make a point of taking a ride along the Brisbane River, not because I need to get from one place to another, but because it’s one of the best ways to see the city.
The catamarans are modern, comfortable and easy to board, with space for wheelchairs and prams. There are indoor seating areas, outdoor viewing decks and even onboard toilets, making longer journeys pleasant and convenient. Sitting outside on a sunny Queensland day, watching the skyline change as the boat glides around the river bends, is an experience in itself.
The route connects many of Brisbane’s most interesting areas, including South Bank, the Botanic Gardens, Kangaroo Point, New Farm, Hamilton and the University of Queensland. Along the way you pass impressive city skyscrapers, historic buildings, riverside parks, marinas and beautiful homes that can only really be appreciated from the water.
For visitors, I would strongly recommend taking a longer ride rather than simply using the service as transport. The round trip offers fantastic views and provides a great introduction to the city. In many ways it feels like a sightseeing cruise, except at a fraction of the cost.
What I particularly enjoy is how Brisbane reveals itself from the river. The city feels relaxed, green and connected to the water, and the CityCat allows you to experience that atmosphere without rushing.
If you're visiting Brisbane and only have time for one simple, affordable activity, take a seat on the open deck of a CityCat and enjoy the journey. Sometimes the best attraction in Brisbane is the river itself.
