Finally - Shark Beach Has Re-Opened!

点评：Finally - after three years of closure and long delays in restoring the old sea wall, Shark Beach at Nielsen Park is now open again.
Shark Beach a very pretty, popular, family-friendly spot and it’s been a long wait!
This is a harbour beach, so you have a stretch of soft, golden sand and gentle waves rather than rolling surf.
It combines the best of both worlds - a beautiful beach and large, shady park.
Nielsen Park stretches out behind the beach and is very easy place to gather a large groups of family or friends for a picnic. Established trees have large, shady canopies, there are picnic tables and plenty of space to spread out.
We usually take a ball and a book and when we need to escape the heat and the sun on the beach, we retreat back to the park.
From a practical point of view, there are good facilities here - changing rooms, outdoor showers, clean toilets and a kiosk. Parking is often a challenge. On a sunny, weekend, the street parking along along Greycliffe Ave will likely be full and you will probably find yourself having to park some distance away and walk back in. Best to plan to arrive early if you can.
