Very Nice Fortress

点评：This is one of Romania’s well preserved fortresses. It is a beautiful fortress but the scaffolding outside greatly blemishes its outer appearance. It is on the outskirts of the city of Suceava and accessible by car. Free parking is on the premises and plenty. Bathroom facilities are available next to the ticket office and inside the fortress just to the right of the main gate. This is in high country so it can be cool and windy and it was when we visited. We went on a week day about an hour after it opened and had the place pretty much to ourselves. People with limited mobility will have a hard time here as there are lots of steep stairs and uneven surfaces, and not wheelchair friendly. Food choices are limited outside the fortress, so plan accordingly. Tickets can be purchased onsite with a credit card or cash. Not sure how fluent in English the staff is. One can spend as little as 1 hour or 3+ hours here. We recommend comfortable shoes (preferably not open toe). We liked our visit very much, so you should not skip it.
