点评：DO NOT BOOK. Worst liveaboard ever
Food is awfull. We all got diarrhea over the course of the week. . For new year they baked a cake.. there was plastic packaging bits in the baked cake. You get a plate of food placed in front of you and they watch you eat or not eat. Breakfast was the best meal as it was cooked to order. Undercooked burger mince. Overcooked tough beef strips or chicken thigh meat with Rice and a can of something.. canned fruit or refrozen ice cream with chocolate topping for desert. Afternoon snacks were things like tuna cracker sandwiches and Chocolate topping drizzled on bread. We all lost weight.
Diving was terrible. Upon arrival onboard we were told the O2 compressor is bust, so no nitrox. Capt Lance talks of Edge dive computers ( circa mid 80’s ) as his rational that you have to dive his dive profile resulting in short dives. 35-45 min was normal. A deeper wreck like San Fran has 10 min bottom time.
There is no dive deck.. you gear up alongside the gunnel and need to use a swinging plank strapped to the side of the ship to step down into a Tender which broke down several time with dirty fuel. Capt Lance was quick to blame his staff , saying they’re not following his instructions transferring fuel. To gain the main ships’ attention, the tender capt had to wave his red shirt until they saw and sent a rescue boat. There is no radio.. and no one was answering mobile phones. Good thing no one had a medical emergency. There is one small rinse tub to wash your gear.
Amenities are very dirty with years worth of built up dust and grime. Cockroaches in salon, the cabins and the galley.. and bedbug bites a week on, is still a trail. Towels provided are full of holes and threadbare , face washers provided discoloured brown. The Salon carpet is disgustingly dirty as is the towel where you make can yourself a coffee. It didn’t get changed once.
I had to ask for our cabin bin to be emptied which prompted one room service.
Internet is up in the wheelhouse and only available near there. None in the salon or your cabin.
As a parent of a young g teenage daughter, the most concerning thing was the Captains dinner conversation about his free love days and how many ladies sailed with him over the years.. his multiple marriages and his latest love interest from some chatroom. All while he wore the same shirt and shorts the entire week. This aged Lothario has no filter.
There is reason why every other liveaboard in the lagoon fills and you find yourself the only guests on Thorfinn. Worst liveaboard I’ve been on in 30 yrs
