点评:This is the birthplace of Handel, known mostly for his Messiah, but a very prolific composer and musician just the same. The house is part music hall and the other part the museum.
On arrival, after we asked about the availability of English guidance through the exhibits we were sent on a strictly timed audio tour. Once you finished your broadcasted audio tour in one room, the tour would immediately start playing the audio portion in the next room. No time for dawdling or getting a second look at something that interested you or caught your eye.
There was one portion where it was more of a video presentation, and a chance to sit down, but otherwise it was just being shuttled from one room to another.
There was also a musical instrument exhibit that was very comprehensive, including many different vintage instruments.
The main criticism would be that there is very little interactivity within the museum. The one exhibit that looked like you could press some buttons to hear different instruments playing was (sadly) not working.
I’m glad I visited since Handel was such a prolific and well known composer. Plus, it’s a good way to to work off the jet lag after arriving in the country.
