点评:Any of the Heart Of England sites are lovely to walk in. Fantastic for walking just myself, with the dog and with my husband. Walks can be made very long by joining walks from site to site, or very short by following the mown grassy paths.
There are lots of other walking routes that criss cross the sites and
***be prepared when walking from site to site for winding lanes that aren’t that busy but do sometimes have vehicles travelling at speed and there are no footpaths***
Walking on any one of the sites is brilliant for small children, there are opportunities for observing the flora and fauna and there are parts where the river makes an appearance. Most sites are great for dog walking too, you will know if you are meant to be there with a dog because poo bins will be provided, if there are no bins, you probably nee to find a different site.
Things to bear in mind if you are unfamiliar with these lovely places:
- Uneven ground and accessibility can be problematic
- You need decent footwear
- There is flooding over the winter sometimes causing closures
- There will be people walking dogs
- The river can be deep and sometimes fast flowing
- Be prepared for walking up and down gentle hills
- Take a donation for the car parks, leave in the collection points
THE STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WORK HARD TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE THESE PLACES FOR US TO ENJOY, THESE PLACES ARE CHERISHED
TAKE NOTHING BUT PHOTOS, LEAVE NOTHING BUT FOOTPRINTS
