点评：We visited this museum with our daughter in april 2025. De Bastei is a beautiful little time traveller museum taking you back through the centuries of Nijmegen explaining the important role the tower played as part of Nijmegen's defensive system. Also lovely exhibition about the nature in this area and the role the river Waal plays in this stategically very important place throughout the centuries. Nijmegen, the oldest city in the Netherlands, has always played a strategic and pivotal role in history. In Batavian and Roman times all the way to the days of the province of Gelderland and later the Netherlands. Lovely little museum to visit and walk around and to learn about the history of its tower and city of Nijmegen. Tip: afterwards go for a nice lunch or a few drinks in one of the many bars, cafes or restaurants on the promenade on the riverbank of the river Waal.
