Free Walking Tour Pisa的点评
点评：The security guards of the Baptistery (little round building behind the leaning tower and beyond the church)
perform a series of vocal intonations every 30 mins to demonstrate the awesome acoustics of this little building.
Interesting fact from the info board: every citizen had to donate one denaro during the construction.
Price of entrance ticket is confusing (hey this is Italy) : board says its free.
However entry guard demands ticket. But place of ticket purchase is across the grassy forecourt in another building.
Price is 7 euros. Board claims it's for 2 monuments. But booth sells at same price for 1 site only. ...
all in all, very Italian and we just gave up on the idea of going in. The back door of the church is austerely beautiful.
But the marble all around the monuments gets slippery especially in wet weather.
Walk on the thin grey tiles or preferably off the raised platform on the pitted granite floor,
if you want to avoid unintentional skating!
