点评：Our trip to BLES was a true Bucket List experience for me! If you want to observe elephants in a true sanctuary setting (no chains, no rides, no gimmicks), this is as good as it gets. We had close-up views of the elephants during forest walks every day and also got to observe three elephants getting specialized care for various injuries. No labor required, but guests can help out with tasks such as harvesting corn or chopping up fruit to keep elephants happy during foot care treatments. The sanctuary headquarters include a spacious shaded pavillion with comfortable seating areas where one can rest, hydrate, read or visit with the host's family and other guests. This is also the location for the delicious breakfasts and dinners which are provided by a skilled and friendly staff. Lunches are delivered by truck out in the forest. Back at headquarters, there are also other rescued animals to visit; including a welcoming committee of friendly dogs, a large indoor/outdoor "Catio" of kitties, three boars (who welcome broom scratches), a collection of tortoises and a crocodile. The staff are all very skilled and knowledgeable and eager to share their knowledge with visitors. I learned so much about the elephants at BLES, their histories and the circumstances of their rescues; as well as the exciting developments of their natural instincts and behaviors; including the formation of strong relationships with other members of the BLES herd. I strongly recommend a visit to BLES. You won't be disappointed.
