点评：Small well kept free museum fairly centrally located. Can spend an hour browsing through various paintings
Although seemingly congested the classical paintings , all placed in one hall( Frye Salon), I found, were really nice. You can borrow a guide which tells you the painter title year and description. I found two Norwegian paintings one on a storm and another on a girl in a valley with mountains behind , a native Indian camp, Chief Seattle and some good landscapes as well. A nice small painting on chess captures the intent observations of players and a similar one of cardinals at leisure
The modern Art section hand paintings of Alexander Katz which to me were not to easy to grasp . Backdrop on a Toy Store was interesting . Even more abstract was the Frye Parlor with a presentation of Jayme Yen of interesting text on what looked like blank coloured spaces.
A photographic exhibition by Tarrah Krajnak from Peru of the human frame with colonial and other objects in the background in black and white was expressive
Thr Museum has an excellent shop with a good collection of art and books
