点评:What a great chocolate making experience!! Came to this little cacao farm just outside of Bucerías and had an amazing time. We arrived (group of 4) a little ahead of our booked time but they started our tour right away. Rosario, our guide, was fantastic, full of information on the history of chocolate in the Americas and guided us around the farm explaining the cacao growing process. We harvested fruit from the tree and broke open the pod to access the beans. We also picked Achiote, which can be used to colour the chocolate. We also tasted cacao beans. They had some fermented and roasted cacao beans ready for us to de-husk and then we ground them ourselves, adding sugar and cinnamon, until we had the right sweetness for our tastes, which we mixed with different additions (coconut, raisins, sprinkles, almonds, walnuts, etc) so we could form our own chocolate bar which we took home. A true tree to table experience!! We tasted a bunch of different chocolate, nibs, coffee flavoured, chili flavoured, etc. and they had a little store to buy those flavours and more as well as other chocolate powders, spreads, etc. what a great experience!! Great for all ages and a cool family event for youngsters too!! They even arranged for a taxi to get us back to our condo, can’t say enough about how great the staff were!!
