One of the Most Disappointing Travel Experiences – A Complete Waste of Time and Money

点评：Our trip to Rome was planned specifically around one key experience: a cooking class with Nonna that we were genuinely excited about. Unfortunately, what was supposed to be the highlight of our trip turned into one of the most frustrating and disappointing travel experiences we’ve ever had.
The hosts had clearly stated in advance that there would be no reception for tourists, and provided step-by-step instructions to follow—which we carefully did from early that morning. We arrived at the designated meeting point at the train station as instructed, and waited for over an hour with no sign of anyone. We had no contact or update, and were completely left in the dark.
Eventually, we had to search for a nearby café just to get access to Wi-Fi and contact the host, only to be told the class had been canceled because Nonna was unwell. We were then blamed for not responding to their emails—even though we received three that same morning, only after we had already left for the class. This communication failure and lack of professionalism was unacceptable. We have the emails as evidence if needed.
What’s most upsetting is the significant time, effort, and money this cost us. Two nights of accommodation, four train rides, hours of planning, and an entire day of our trip were completely wasted. Not to mention the emotional disappointment of missing the one thing we were actually looking forward to in Rome.
Unfortunately, this experience has left us with nothing but regret and negative memories. Rome itself felt overcrowded, overpriced, and surprisingly unwelcoming—but this situation was the breaking point. For what we spent, this felt like a scam, and I would strongly caution others before booking this experience.
