Fantastic birding, wildlife and company!
Inglorious Bustards的点评
点评：Awesome trip!
We did the “Birding on Two Continents” tour. A week based around Southern Spain near Algeciras/Gibraltar and Northern Morocco along the west coast and up into the Rif mountains near Chefchouan. We were part of a group of 13. Ferry transfer across The Straits from Tarifa to Tanger.
Brilliant guides, delicious food, and superb birding. We visited migration viewpoints, great mountain and forest ranges, and excellent wetlands. Niki and Simon are experienced birders catering for specialist birders as well as more general nature enthusiasts. As well as the birds, we saw butterflies, amphibians and a large troop of Barbary Apes in Bouhachem NP (Morocco). The trip was well paced and comfortable (folding chairs for raptor watching). Good hotel/lodge facilities, especially Huerta Grande and Auberge Dardara. We’re vegetarian and this was easily accommodated.
Our personal highlight was the boat trip on the Merja Zerga lagoon (Morocco), where we got fantastic close views of many waders, terns and gulls - eg Slender billed & Auduoins Gull, Lesser Crested & Caspian Tern. Up in the mountains outside Chefchouan we saw the exquisite Moussier’s Redstart.
Unfortunately we missed out on the boat trip to see sea birds and cetaceans due to the strong winds during our trip, but the substitute trips were excellent.
Inglorious Bustards are clearly strong advocates of responsible tourism supporting local businesses and sustainability. Brilliant trip.
