It’s been a book haven for 98 years, and you can feel that history the moment you step inside — but don’t be fooled, it’s also a thriving, modern hub at the heart of the Lee‑on‑the‑Solent community. If you’re visiting the high street, it’s an essential stop.

They regularly host author interviews, book signings, and wellbeing meetups, making it far more than just a shop — it’s a place to belong.
All genres are covered: children’s, YA, classics, romantasy, and everything in between, plus a great second‑hand selection. You’ll also find stationery, cards, jewellery, and their own “Made in the Bookshop” merch. The tote bags are a personal favourite.
