点评:On the alberimonumentali.info website this tree is listed among the 304 Italian trees that aren't simply monumental (there are over 4000), but of further great interest. A small group then.
In fact the tree is out of the ordinary. It reminded me of another specimen, similar also in its bearing: the “Quercia delle streghe” (witches’ oak) in the municipality of Capannori, Tuscany. In both cases some of the most powerful branches that branch off from the trunk have an almost horizontal trend, so that they seem to be about to break at any moment under their own weight. And overall the tree has such a wide crown that it seems almost supernatural.
You return from the view of this holm oak truly stunned by emotion.
The tree stands on a gentle terraced slope, once probably used as a hazelnut grove, but today it has gone wild.
We reached the holm oak by the shortest route (which still involves more than 1 km of walking along a mule track in the thick of the wood), but on the way back we followed another route, thus configuring a ring trail, very interesting (we used the well-known trail app “Komoot”).
We recommend everyone to visit this wonder of nature.
