An Amazing Amazon experience

点评：This trip rates at the top of our guided expedition trips. No leaf left unturned. Michael does an excellent job of creating your once in a lifetime experience. He is 100% involved with the operation but has a great staff and crew that he lets them have full rein on creating that great experience. His preparation for trip is tremendous especially if you have never been in the jungle. He even did a You tube video for us! We had a hitch with airline getting down there but Michael thankfully gives a recovery day just for that reason and caught up without missing a day of fishing. Once we arrived in Barcelos where we met Michael and the boat it was an experience that we will never forget. The crew was there to accommodate us, handled our bags, made sure of our safety down a flight of stairs to boat and making sure we got on the little boats safely to get to the mother ship. We had seen pictures of the boat but being there to see it was amazing. It was very clean, roomy, our own bed and bathroom, spacious dining room and a couple of lounges with bar. Our timing was perfect for the first afternoon the city had a Festival on an island in the middle of the river and got to go and enjoy a local concert.
We fished the next six days with one day having lunch with a primitive native tribe on the river. We were impressed how Michael and his crew took time to cook for them as well as showed us around and what they had donated time and equipment to help make there life healthier including having a dentist/guide aboard. Also allowed us to fish in their territory. Every night they moved the boat so we could fish a different location. One day we fished a spot where we actually pulled boats across land to a remote body of water cut off by the low water and was the best day of fishing. Michael has done a great job in selecting his guides, their knowledge of the river is unbelievable, navigating, finding fish spots and getting us to and back to boat safely without any electronics was amazing. The last night had a big crew appreciation festival on a nice sandy beach that topped off the week. In all for what we paid for this trip and the other experiences we did participated in other than fishing made it very affordable. Not many other outfitters could match that experience. We look forward to hopefully coming back.
