Horrible zoo with neglected and depressed animals

点评：This was the most horrible and saddest zoo I ever experienced!
The cages were extremely small, worn off and dirty and only consisted of concrete and metal. No plants or any other stimulation for the animals. Most animals looked malnourished and sick. In no enclosure we saw any food for the animals (except some dirty and dry bamboo for the capybaras, which had skin problems as well). The animals were desperately putting their claws and faces through the metal cages to get as much food by the visitors as possible. This is not normal behaviour! It looks like they are not fed enough so that they are more likely to accept food from visitors.
Other animals looked depressed, many had skin or eye problems or were running in circles like crazy all the time (especially one deer, and the zoo writes a description on a sign saying that the deer is running for "meditation". So it also miseducates people on purpose to make them believe that this behaviour is normal).
It looked like you would imagine a zoo 100 years ago!
In youtube and other online resources one can also find videos how badly they treat the elephants, they are trained in a very cruel and violent way behind the scenes: Constantly hitting them and shouting at them, even until bleeding, with the poor baby elephants as well. The traces of this like blood they are hiding during the shows so the public cannot notice it.
There was news that some of the elephants died and others were in a bad condition just a few years ago.
But then they did crowdfunding to breed more elephants, which seems like a joke! If you cannot take good care of your other elephants already, why do you need more of them?
People should know about the bad conditions there and not support them to make even more animals suffer.
This place should be shut down completely and the remaining animals given to other places like proper sanctuaries where they can recover.
