点评：Futamigaura is a well-known landmark situated in the northern part of Itoshima city, inside Genkai Quasi-National Park.
While Futamigaura in Ise, Mie Prefecture is referred to as “the Sunrise Futamiura,” the stunning sight of the sun setting over the Genkai Sea led to its nickname as “the Sunset Futamigaura.”
Beyond the white torii gate lies “Meotoiwa” (Couples Rock), a double-peaked islet that looks as if it stands united like a husband and wife. Situated about 150 meters from the shore, the two sections of the islet are connected by a shimenawa rope. The islet serves as a sacred location for the Sakurai Shrine, established by Tadayuki Kuroda, the second ruler of the Fukuoka domain, and honored by many generations of the Kuroda family, which is why it is also known as Sakurai-Futamigaura.
This location draws many tourists due to the presence of several trendy cafes and restaurants in the vicinity.
During the summer solstice, watching the sun set directly over Couples Rock is a remarkable experience. The time between sunset and sunrise, known as blue hour, when the sky becomes a rich deep blue, is also magical. Photographers and various individuals gather at this beautiful location.
