点评:We visited Jodogahama Beach in Oct 2025 when our cruise ship docked at Fujiwara Pier in Miyako. We took a taxi from the pier to the Visitor Center for ¥2,100, or about $3. None of the shared ride apps (GO Taxi, S Ride, Uber) cover this area, but as we left from the pier, there were plenty of taxis available and locals to assist. The Visitor Center is interesting enough to take 10 or 15 minutes to explore, and they have maps and English speaking docents should you have any questions. From the rear of the Visitor Center, you can take a path that leads to a wooden deck overlooking the water. At the end of the deck, take the path through a small tunnel and it will lead to a nicely paved scenic pathway that winds its way along the water, terminating at Jodogahama Beach. We stopped frequently to enjoy the views but this whole path can probably be walked in less than 20 minutes. You'll pass by a small pier where you can rent paddle boats, SUP boards, or take a short boat excursion, but we passed on all. Note that Google Maps as of this writing is not up to date as it will not show a connecting path between the Visitor Center and the beach.
Jodogahama Beach itself is pretty small, and completely covered with rocks. But on a sunny day, quite a beautiful setting as it's surrounded by hills and interesting rock formations. At the beach there is a restaurant and souvenir shop with quite a few English speaking docents available to help. We were planning to visit Sannoiwa Rocks, and one of the docents gave us great advice on where to get dropped off and picked up. He then called a taxi that took credit cards as we did not have enough ¥ to pay for the ride in cash, and when the taxi arrived, he instructed the driver on exactly where to take us, drop us off, and then pick us up again for the return drive to the pier.
In total, we spent a little over 2 hours here and thoroughly enjoyed our morning.
