点评:A complete antidote to Kyoto's crowds, this is a wonderful half day.
You can either start in Kurama or Kibune. Unless you want to go to the onsen in Kurama at the end of your walk I think its best to start in Kurama. That is because the uphill is broken up with interesting sites. By contrast the uphill on the Kibune side is through the forest which, whilst a nice peaceful section, has fewer attractions to break it up.
We came in cherry blossom season, and the cherry blossoms were superb on this walk, the best we saw on our Japan trip.
Whilst a hill walk, it is a peaceful forest walk for the most part so only a couple of short sections of any sorts of views, which are reasonably nice of the surrounding hills. The main purpose is the peace, visiting the temples and shrines without crowds and having a lovely lunch in Kibune at the end.
