点评:Great visitor centre with free information on the Dam and the history of the generating scheme in a walkthrough exhibition which is informative and fascinating both for the factual content and the historical aspects. I loved the interviews with the men who built the dam and the old film and photos of the construction itself-with techniques and approaches from a by-gone age.
Absolutely worth visiting ( free car park and excellent cafe). Check opening times as it’s not open every day. Tours of the dam are not possible at the moment due to ongoing construction work to upgrade the power hall and that will be the case for a couple of years. Planning permission for a new generating call (Cruachan 2) was recently placed and would result in a second underground generating hall which might means many years before a tour could be possible- but you can walk to the dam on your own - see my separate review on the dam and that too is with doing.
