点评:Oshino Hakkai is a quant traditional village that looks to have fallen victim to its own success.
In as much as we enjoyed the Ponds and noted that these were filled from Mt Fuji springwater, it's also chock full of street food stalls and a massive souvenir shop at the entrance.
I came across a vendor spruiking peach & matcha ice tea, which was soooo good that I had to buy a pouch of it. The vendor happily hands out samples for tourists to try and must have given me 10-15 cups of the stuff upon seeing my face light up with delight at the taste!
You can also buy an empty water bottle for ~¥200 and fill this with Mt Fuji springwater.
The souvenir shop sells the same tourist stuff that you'll find everywhere. I also found the fruit sellers here to be very expensive...imagine paying ¥6000 or about AUD $60 for a pouch of grapes, no thank you!
