Nice enough, but fell a bit short

点评：Beautiful building, but in need of some repair with flaking paint outside, moss on roof. A little thing, but the worn seasonal welcome mat at the front entrance was for winter, and it's barely entering fall... Made me wonder about the detailed touch that makes so many B&Bs special.
We stayed in the Drawing Room, which was beautiful in the photos and in person, but beware of the bathroom situation! The toilet is in a teeny closet- my knees kept hitting the door and popping loose the magnetic fastener, which was not the intimacy I was looking for on our anniversary trip! Also there is a soaking tub and ewer provided, but no shower or easy way to wash your hair. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable for me, although my partner slept ok. Breakfast was fine- a serve yourself affair that was warm when we arrived at 8 but definitely would not have been later in the breakfast window.
