点评:This stunning national monument is one of the only places where the Organ Pipe Cactus grow in the wild. It's unfortunate that the park is so remote requiring at least a two-hour drive from Tucson but it is well worth the trip. The park has a nice visitor center with restrooms, displays, souvenirs and helpful staff. We used our Senior Pass to get into the park without cost. There is a paved trail around the visitor center with many examples of Organ Pipes in all stages of development along with many other species. In fact when we were there, the Ocotillos were also in spectacular bloom. It is a rough drive out to the Archway Trail, but again it was worth it. The land formations are stunning and hiking toward the arch while rigorous provided ample photo ops. You are close to the Mexican border (Lukeville Crossing) if you want to drive a bit further to experience that. It was fun to pass through the town of Why on our way to Organ Pipe which has a few conveniences but you need to head to Ajo for more options to shop and dine.
