Sadly and badly neglected

点评：We visited during a trip to Northumberland, having found it in the Gardeners' World 2 for 1 booklet.
It's difficult to know where to start. We were the only visitors. The owner met us in the car park and explained that, as she had stopped using pesticides and membrane, the paths were grassed and some beds needed weeding. Armed with our laminated map we set off. What a disappointment! The gardens are sadly and badly neglected; everywhere is overgrown and garden structures are falling apart. The 'plant sales' area looks like it is returning to the wild.
I wish we'd read the Tripadvisor reviews before we visited. It seems that, using a wide range of excuses/explanations this has been the case for many years. It's sad to see that this garden has got so far out of hand and is too much for the owner, but it needs a reality check and certainly needs removing from any further Gardeners' World promotions.
