点评:We had wanted to go here two years ago when we first stayed overnight in a nearby Appalachian Mountain Club cabin, but didn't have time, but this year we stayed longer so that we could see the falls, and we're glad we did! Not handicap accessible, and though the ground is packed, the trails are generally ridden with roots and rocks, and in a couple of places the trail requires going over boulders. It's not laborious, but you are going up an incline to get there, about 1.3 miles from the parking lot (which has two outhouses). You also have to ford a river, two if you want to get to the other side of the falls where the designated viewing area is. Until last night, they were in drought mode, and the falls may not have been as spectacular as at other times, but we still loved it. Reduced water exposed rocks worn smooth by water and some were slippery. Wear sturdy footwear. No fees. Beautiful scenery, and you hike part of the Appalachian Trail on the way. Early to mid-October is a great time to go because it's still warm, the trees are in color, and there aren't so many people.
