点评：I've visited Oakland Cemetery most every time that I've been in Atlanta while traveling. It is one of the finest cemeteries around. And so historic! Love the history and the architecture here. On this visit in early March, I was pleasantly surprised to see the new Visitors Center (just outside the main gate, where a parking lot used to be) newly open! Even the gift shop was open. We parked on the street (there is a parking lot beyond the building) and walked in. The cemetery looks good. I could tell that much has been done to repair the roads and the sidewalks (although one always has to watch your step walking about!). We visited the final resting places for several notable people, including Kenny Rogers (interred there since my last visit). We enjoyed the spring flowers starting to bloom. In past years, I've taken a tour when the opportunity presented itself; that's a great way to be introduced to Oakland Cemetery! Either way a walk here is peaceful and calming and reflective.
