点评:We hiked around Ward Lake and then did the Connell Lake Trail.
Ward Lake is attached to a campground, so there were a ton of families with young children. I love getting kids out in nature though it did pretty much guarantee we weren't going to see any wildlife. The trail is flat and wide with pretty views, a nice way to spend an hour.
Connell Lake trail was a bit deceiving - the sign showed an elevation gain of 130', but it was a lot of up and down and the first half mile or so was very steep. Lots of loose rocks in the beginning, and past that there were a ton of steps and boards. A few muddy/slick spots but it had just rained so that was to be expected. Totally worth it - it was a beautiful hike. We all really enjoyed it. We took our time and took a lot of photos, so it took about 3 1/2 hours, perfect way to spend our last afternoon in Alaska.
