点评:make sure you get to Logan's Pass visitor center parking lot before 6am. You probably see some wild life in the parking lot such as big horn sheep and maybe some mountain goats. Hiking this trail to the granite chalet is not very hard about 700 feet rise in elevation but you still should be in shape enough to hike 6 ish miles. Having said that the walk down is very hard 4 miles down with 4000 feet drop in elevation. It is better if you are with a group having one car parked at the big curve and taking everyone else up to the Logans pass parking lot. The buses are hit and miss and usually very full and you may have a many hour wait just to get back to your car if you can't catch a ride back up. The views along this hike are amazing and you can see the grandeur of the western side of the Glacier Park. There will be many opportunities to see various wild life along this trail if you are observant and quiet as you stroll.
The one note about the beginning of this trail which is the Garden Wall, there is a hand hold as the trail is cut into the side of the mountain about 3 feet wide. If you have a fear of heights this may not be a hike you want to do alone, but with someone to encourage you along.
Once you arrive at the granite chalet there are bathrooms, water and some snacks along with souvenirs if you are so inclined to buy a memento of your journey.
The Good: Amazing views, sunrise was magnificent and seeing animals on the trail was bonus.
The Bad: The down trail was very hard on the knees and there isn't any shade so have a hat, sunglasses and if needed sunscreen the altitude lends for sunburn easily.
The Ugly: Some people stopped on the garden wall and wouldn't let anyone pass them they were very frightened and it took some convincing to get them to move on. The Buses at the Big Curve run hit or miss and are very full if you haven't planed ahead you could be waiting quite a while to get back to your car.
On the Scuba Bubble scale of one to ten Bubbles I give this hike along the garden wall to the granite chalet and down to the big curve 9 bubbles.
