点评:Ol Pejeta conservancy is a beautiful place with excellent views and stirring landscapes: rolling hills, plains, waterholes and acacia's, with snow capped Mount Kenya in the background.
The bush vibe is definitely there, and I saw a pride of playful lions, antelopes, buffalos, elephants, lots of zebras, a jackall, hyenas and many white and black rhinos. The rhino memorial is a quiet place for contemplation. In previous years the poaching measures have proved successful, as no more rhino' are added to the graveyard.
The sundowns are magnificent.
You can arrange for watching the last two northern rhinos in the world, Najin and her daughter Fatu. I did so, and petting and feeding those friendly giants was both sad and deeply moving. You'll be be accompanied in this secluded area by a private ranger who tells their story. As both rhinos can't have babies, science will be the key to the survival of this subspecies.
I was also allowed to touch and feed Baraka, the famous blind black rhino.
All in all, an unforgettable experience. The staff and rangers of Ol Pejeta are very friendly and informative. Visit it when you have the opportunity!
