点评:To explain - this 3 star rating stands for Neutral, not average. The monument is not finished yet, and wont be in a near future. The up to date progress you see in pics (with a pointed finger recently finished) dates back to 1948 when it was started.
Without a doubt, one day it will be a glorious Memorial overpassing the nearby Mt. Rushmore in size and details.
However, in my opinion right now I don't find reasonable paying 35$ and spending couple of hours inside. The main attraction - Crazy Horse face and pointed finger are clearly visible from the roadside parking.
I understand this fee is for funding the Memorial, but I think the main burden of that should be on SD and US government, just like Mt. Rushmore where you only pay 10$ parking.
Not to be misunderstood - I gladly paid fees for many Native American legacy places in Utah, Arizona, New Mexico...and enjoyed them very much, but here it just makes no sense imo.
In Google Maps type 'Crazy Horse Overnight Parking' - you can park there, view and take pics of the huge monument and leave. During our 15 min presence, there were over 10 cars at the parking lot and only 1 passed the gate.
NOTE that if you enter the road towards the booths you cannot make a U turn due to middle road grass barrier, but must enter.
