Left with a lighter wallet and a feeling of total disappointment
Nevis Range Mountain Experience的点评
点评：We chose to take a trip up the gondola on a day of low cloud and rain so we knew we wouldn’t be taking in the breath taking view of the Highlands.
But we decided to take the trip up on the promise of a nice meal in the clouds! Lots of adverts offering meal deals and the promise of whisky at the top!
Up we went £55 lighter for the privilege so we were hoping for some out standing food!
We were met with a poor selection of pre packaged sandwiches all use by today, we spotted there was soup on offer so not wanting a wasted trip we went for that and some coffee! Nearly another £20 gone from my wallet for the worst soup and driest roll I have ever had! As we sat there pondering why we had bothered we felt embarrassed to be Scottish! Lots of tourists and families had made the trip up probably with the same idea as us, fun trip on the Gondola and some nice lunch at the top! They probably arrived expecting a fine Scottish welcome to be greeted with the saddest looking cafe I’ve ever seen! All the staff looked like they were hating life and not very helpful! We had never been on a gondola before so on our trip down we weren’t sure if we were just meant to jump on the next Gondola or wait to be shown to one for safety reasons etc! But 3 members of staff just sat there yapping!
Overall a very underwhelming experience!
Come on Nevis range do better you have the facilities to make this cafe a truly magical place, with a captive audience many of the people probably only riding up to enjoy some coffee and cake and a grand view when the weather allows…. Such a shame when it had the potential to be a fab atmospheric cafe serving fine Scottish food instead it was about as atmospheric as petrol station with worse food choices!
