Cedar Falls Trail - hike you must do!

点评：Spectacular! We took a short trip to Hot Springs and read a lot about this park about 1.5 hours away. It did not disappoint. The Cedar Falls overlook is beautiful and I encourage you to do the hike to the bottom of the falls which starts at Mather Lodge. It’s rocky and uneven, therefore a bit strenuous, but so worth it. It took us about 2 hours round trip. Honestly, the highlight hike of our trip. Something you’d expect to see in Colorado and in my opinion - this FAR exceeded Hot Springs National Park! Our daughter walked behind the waterfall too! There were people of all ages, shapes and sizes doing it. Bring your water, take your time and enjoy the walk. After, we had a quick bite at the restaurant in the lodge. Service was good, food was mostly sandwich fare but decent after the long hike. We drove in from the East and started at Stout’s Point which was very interesting. We aren’t campers or RV people, but all the facilities looked fantastic. If you are near the area, take the time to stop here. On our way out- we headed north to Harrison, MO and that drive was amazing! Lots of switchbacks - but definitely want to do that drive in the daylight! You pass a lot of really run down towns along the way, but still a neat drive.
