点评：This is a unique opportunity to taste the original version of what we drink on a daily basis. Georgia invented wine, and is a UNESCO Heritage location. This is different and you had better leave your ethnocentric opinions in the parking lot! The wine has a minerality that some people won’t like. It’s like the Provencal wines, but on steroids. Nevertheless, once I settled into what I was tasting, I liked it. George is one of the most interesting people I met in the region and was great company. He also fed us a delicious eggplant dish and some pastries stuffed with cheese and lamb.
The traditional California wines are pretty good. I found them balanced. They’re dry with distinct varietal characteristics.
The dog is a charmer. Leave yours in the car, he’s not aggressive or unpleasant but clearly this is a boss dog. He wanders around and puts his head on your leg hoping for a pat. Typical Rottweiler.
In all, this is what I look for in a winery. It’s small, pretty, with good wines and nice folks.
