No hot water. No service. Limited communication. But still lovely venue for our friends wedding.

No hot water. No housekeeping after the first day. The small things ending up bothering us the most.
This has the potential to be awesome and epic. We were there for a wedding and it is a vineyard as well as accommodation offering weddings amongst other options for occasions. They also seem to do tastings for their wine but we did not get to do this on this occasion. The venue was great for the wedding and photos. The dinner and party hosted at the main building was great. But we probably will not go here again simply because we communicated with the venue about no hot water and called and messaging them as we of course wanted a hot shower before the wedding (I’m old school so in person, phone calls and messages through 3rd party app). Not to mention we could not wash up properly without hot water. We got the story about running the water for 2 minutes but considering I’d run the water for close to 10 minutes in what could be both hot and cold it was evident we had no hot water. An engineer did come but after an hour he just left saying try it again in an hour. The water was never hot for our 3 days and 2 nights. We could not wait to leave to go to our next hotel for a hot shower.
We did arrange for the sofa bed to be made up for our daughter but it was not made up. We called them for this and housekeeping brought a bunch of bags and suggested we make it ourselves. I suggested they make it and to be fair they did.
We repeatedly requested a top up of toilet paper, coffee and tea but we never received that and nor did we receive any further house keeping. Considering the maintenance man walked around the assortment in his shoes in the shower room, living room and outside we did ask for a clean but it never happened.
As I said for the wedding , the venue and the people attending the wedding it was fantastic but the little things means I will not return for our own trips.
Also good to know there is no local shops or restaurants so if you’re staying here it’s a good idea to go grocery shopping and because we did not get much of a check-in with knowledge of how to stay there I can’t recommend anything. I’m just glad we did grocery shopping for our time when we were not participating and attending the wedding.
