点评:Around 1pm, we drove up into Chisos Basin and easily found a parking space at the small lot for the trailhead for the Lost Mine Trail (4.8 mi. RT), since it appears most people hike this trail in the morning. This trail has incredible views once you reach the saddle above Juniper Canyon about a mile into the hike, and for those who don’t want to venture any further, this would be a worthy destination.
We continued up the trail through the switchbacks (not terribly difficult we thought) to the furthest overlook. I wouldn’t say the trail was crowded, but it was probably the second busiest trail of our trip behind Santa Elena Canyon, and for good reason. Amazing views at the top. We finished the hike in just under 3 hours and the parking lot was only about half full when we returned.
