点评：My husband and I visited the library first as I wanted to view some information for genealogical purposes. The library staff were very welcoming and helpful. I only had a short time available that afternoon and decided to come back the next morning. Sharon took my list of items and for a very reasonable fee agreed to look up the items and email them to me. This allowed us to catch the first tour of the President's home that day. The young man giving the tour was very knowlegable and the home itself is so impressive with 17 bedrooms! President Hayes was the 17th President of the USA [Lincoln, Johnson, Grant, Hayes] and his one term included the bicentennial. His family loved to entertain and there were times when all the bedrooms were full and people were sleeping in the hallways! The grounds are well shaded with large trees, one of which dated from the Revolutionary War period. There are walkways and benches where one can enjoy the beautiful park-like area. And the City of Fremont has so many absolutely gorgeous older homes and churches! If they don't offer a home tour during the year they should consider it - it would be a popular destination for that alone.
