Spring garden but difficult to navigate.

点评：We started at the café but we're surprised to find no sandwiches at all, we had a sausage roll (soggy bottom pastry) and a cake (one was drowning in sugar). Tea and coffee were ok, but I would have taken a picnic if I'd known it had so little choice. The garden is primarily a spring shrub garden with many trees, not really much in the way of perennials if that is your preference. It was extremely frustrating to navigate as no maps are available but they have a poster you can take a picture of and use that, but a small image on a phone on a bright sunny day didn't make that easy to use! There are many paths but very few signs so be prepared to get lost and have to backtrack, one sign to Eagle pond mentioned going southwest, but as I didn't have a compass, it was hardly helpful! Unfortunately if you do find a sign, the pathways then diverge soon after with no further signage, hence getting lost at more than one point, more than one person was looking bewildered and asking anyone they saw for help, I saw no staff of any kind beyond those at the entrance. It's a garden for the sure footed, nearer the house are gravel paths but further out it's rough track with big stones and tree roots, be prepared with the right footwear if you want to venture down to the ponds etc. I won't come back unless they introduce more signs, I probably missed bits I would have liked to have seen, but after walking over 3 miles, I gave up once I found the way out, I had no will to get lost again!
