点评:Laurel caverns are expansive and one of deepest in the U.S.--on the self-guided portion you are 15 stories below surface. Per website, "if classified as a Sandstone cave, it is the largest in the world". The guided tour is pretty easy walking and the self guided portion included in reasonable priced ticket is not as bad as they make it sound. If you can do stairs (about 100 upward total) and walk sideways you should be o.k. Benches every flight or two for rests. Everything is well lit and some creative colors and even a "chandelier" passage that extends downwards for quite a ways. You will learn some basics about cave formation, and the cave is also available for spelunking. Staff/tour guides are knowledgeable and friendly and NO TIPPING! Instead they request you complete a comment card which they use to award bonuses--what a great idea. With the usual 55degree underground temperature this is a great visit on a hot or rainy day. Website cautions against depending on GPS--we followed the suggestion to use the 1065 Skyline Drive Address then to follow the ample road signs to the caverns with no problems.
