点评:I've cycled dozens of multiday trails around the world and this would have to rate as one of the dullest. While the trail conditions are good and there are facilities, viewing opportunities of the marvelous landscapes in the Black Hills are extremely limited. Most of the time all you will see are trees. These rail trails often have quite a lot of history and some good stories, but virtually none of that was visible.
A huge disincentive is the lack of support for the self supporting trail rider. No camping allowed. That plus the charges on this trail suggest to me that this is more of a commercial endeavor than one that captures the real spirit of the adventurer. Do it if you must, but believe me, there are other much better trails around.
If you want to see what are real rail trails should look like, check out the Otago Rail Trail in New Zealand which is of a similar length. You can't cycle more than 2 miles there without seeing a history board. And the landscapes of the Otago are open and stunning.
