点评：As in 2018 we did not see one Alligator. Prior to the mass "removal" of these animals we would see many of them in this park. We did however, spot an alligator once in Sanibel Gardens Preserve and it was a juvenile, so adults must be around somewhere but they are now apparently terrified of exposing themselves. There is an excellent Observation Deck/Tower immediately to the left of the entrance of "Ding". You park to the right of the Ranger booth and then walk the short path to the observation tower. From there we observed Little Green Heron parents who laid just one egg. Their egg after 2 weeks was devoured (we believe) by a Green Iguana we spotted close by. Osprey are abundant here and always a joy to watch. We were fortunate to see a Manatee family, mom, dad and baby, which is only the 2nd time in my 30 years at "Ding" I've seen Manatees. There is a second observation tower further along the drive. As is the case now in all of Florida, Green Iguana and Coyotes are abundant all through the island of Sanibel.
