Showboat Branson Belle的点评
点评：Pretty good. Pluses and minuses, of course.
We visited on a fairly blustery day. Don't know if that affected the distance we were finally allowed to travel on the boat, but it wasn't much. Fully expected the boat to do more than circle a nearby island then return to dock. But there we were.
Food was very good. Service was quick & staff was wonderful. They get full marks there; and Christopher James could have done a full show. He was great- funny and engaging. In fact, let him carry the whole thing!
So, the music act went off the rails for me & my husband. These lovely, enthusiastic performers could benefit from singing songs within their ranges.
The GenX crew isn't quite so old or deaf as to forget what their songs sound like when done well- even by cover bands. All the singers-men and women- had voices too high for most every rock song they attempted. It was... cringey. Stick to fun pop hits & it won't be so rough.
Madonna, the Bangles, Cyndi Lauper, Blondie, George Michael, Peter Cetera, maybe even Prince- definitely not Bon Jovi, David Lee Roth, or Huey Lewis. Country song selections were much more in their range though.
And dare I recommend cutting short the end sequence of God & country? I love gospel and patriotic pieces, but the show is already long, then there's another 15-20 minutes of "Six Flags" perfomances added to the end
Maybe fewer numbers overall, more Christopher James, and the whole thing is wrapped up in under 2 hours?
